The choir will be competing in the Margrat Duncan Memorial Trophy at the Royal National Mod in Fort William on Friday 17th October. The choir are due on at 5pm and the competition is being televised live on BBC Alba. You can also hear it on Radio nan Gaidheal.
There are 9 choirs in the competition . The Lovat and Tullibardine competition is being run at the same time so a full afternoon of choral singing will start at 1:30pm with a further 7 choirs competing in that event.
After a short break after the Mod the choir will be returning for practice sessions with new songs on Tuesday November 18th until 16th December after which we will have a break for Christmas and return for the new session on January 13th. If there are any changes to these dates I will post here asap.
As always the choir is looking for new members and if you are interested in singing choral Gaelic songs whether you are Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass, please come along to any of our sessions on Tuesday evenings at the Skye Bible Church , Bayfield Road, Portree, down the lane at the back of Boots the Chemist. Practices take place every Tuesday from 8pm till 10pm. Prior knowledge of Gaelic is not necessary as the Gaelic tutor will teach you the word pronunciations and meanings.
